About Cosmos Enterprises, Inc.

The predecessor to Cosmos Enterprises, Inc. was organized in August 1960. Since our founding we have grown from a two person auto-body repair shop to a 20+ full service CNC machine shop.

In August 1960, Clint and Evelyn Grove began operations as Clint's Body Shop doing auto body repair. Clint worked in the shop and Evie in the office.

In 1971, the Groves sold one-half of their interest in the body shop to Mert Shuck and changed the name from Clint's Body Shop to CosMos which was an acronym for Clint owns some Mert owns some.

In 1973, Clint developed and patented a front wheel alignment system for 4 wheel drive vehicles called the CosMos Shim System. Over one million shims have been sold worldwide since then.

In 1975, Clint & Evie bought Mert's share of the business. Clint kept doing body work, but concentrated more on chassis repair. Clint and Evie renamed the business from CosMos to Cosmos Enterprises, Inc.

In 1988, Cosmos developed and patented a rear wheel alignment system to align the rear wheels of front wheel drive vehicles. As a result of this effort, Cosmos has worked closely with Northstar Manufacturing Co. of Minnetonka, MN to assist in their development work in the wheel alignment trouble shooting field.

In 1998, Clint retired and turned the reins over to his two sons Bill and Robert Grove. After working together for 4 years, the elder brother Bill decided he wanted to venture out on his own. Robert chose to include four key employees in the purchase of Bill's interest in the company: Purchaser Todd Lohse, Fabrication Foreman James Warde, Machine Shop Foreman David Bates and Controller Jessica Nelson.

Since forming this partnership, the company's revenues have grown to over twice the size with roughly the same number of employees as when they started.

Many other exciting things have happened along the way; too many to name. We hope you make Cosmos Enterprises, Inc a part of your history.
